Zac Blakley is a supporting character in Mako Mermaids. He became a Merman while camping at Mako Island. An easy-going guy, Zac is quite sporty and grew up surfing. He's a water sports kind of guy, and a very strong person when it comes to personality, and after becoming a merman, things dramatically change when he becomes something he's never imagined could happen to him. Zac starts out as an all-round nice guy. He's popular and sporty, always off on one adventure or another with best mate Cam. He and Cam have a healthy and long-running rivalry - based firmly in good-hearten mateship.
The rivalry fuels both boys in everything they do - and they banter constantly. But truth be told, they both win as often as they lose. They are essentially equals. That is until the Moon Pool endows Zac with amazing powers and the ability to morph into a Merman
When he first gets a Tail, Zac experiences a range of different emotions. First he's stunned, then intrigued, and then bummed - after all, his new status as a merman makes him a bit unusual. In addition, he knows he can't get wet in front of people without messing up in his game. He soon finds out that the plus side of his powers outweighs the negative side. Zac soon begins to embrace his new changes. This causes a rift in his friendship with Cam - who is used to being Zac's equal, and is obviously jealous of Zac's new abilities.

When things hit rock bottom with Cam, Lyla, Nixie and Sirena learn of Zac's powers and Zac finds a new support network. It's Lyla that Zac feels most comfortable confiding in, causing problems with his girlfriend, Evie, who breaks up with him in an episode.
Becoming a Merman[]
One night when it was the full moon Zac and his best friend Cam go out to camp on Long Island. At the middle of the night Zac couldn't sleep so he took a walk around Long Island. In a lucky block, Zac saw a cave and he falls into a pool where the three mermaid were relaxing. He falls right when the full moon was above the pool. Then he becomes merman. It was revealed that Agatha, Zac & mimmi mother place a spell on Zac when he was a baby to make him human until coming into contact with moon pool water on a full moon.
Biography[]
In Outcasts: Zac and Cam went fishing on Mako Island, and to camp. While Cam was sleeping, Zac couldn't sleep, so he left the tent and went for a walk. As he was walking in the woods, he saw the Trident Cave, he entered it. As he walked around the cave, he came upon a Trident shaped implant on the wall, and put his hand on it, and under his legs, the floor dissolved, came a hole and he fell into moon pool, right when the full-moon was shining in the pool, along with the mermaids.. When he feel they than rescue him by leaving him on the beach. The next day, he wakes up, having absolutely no knowledge of where he is; he goes back to Cam, not knowing that he is now a mermen. Later that day, at the shore, he goes over to a faucet, getting ready to put some water into a bottle, just when the water moves away from him as if it has it's own gravitational pull. Trying to get some water over and over again, he soon realizes it's him doing that to the water, and out of confusion, more or less, realizes he has the ability to bend water. So excited yet bombarded, by his sudden ability, he tries to show Cam his power. With Sirena, Nixie and Lyla watching and not wanting Zac to blow his cover, with their powers combined, they over power Zac as he tries to show his friend his ability to bend water, but, despite his efforts, and even the knowledge and proof that he can, the mermaids over power him, leaving Cam with no proof. After Cam leaves, Zac tries one more time. Not knowing how to control his power, he splashes the water on to himself in a bum rush. Completely surprised, he stumbles back, and falls off the shore and into the water, ultimately turning him into a merman. when they went back home, he got splashed by water and then turned into a mermen. The Mermaids look on Zac, obviously surprised to as such a thing could happen.
In Getting Legs: Zac is shown in his room, or the garage per se. He gets up and pours some water on his feet, after more than six seconds of no transformation, he immediately thinks that his powers or such, are gone, but much to his dismay, his tail reappears seconds afterward, leaving him to flop on his bed, staring at his tail with even more surprise, obviously wondering what is going on. Even more to his dismay, his father comes in, leaving Zac to hurriedly cover his gigantic aquatic tail. After acting suspicious towards his father, his dad begins to try and pull the covers off of Zac in order to get him ready. Petrified by the fact that his father may find he's part fish, in the matter of milliseconds, leaves Zac and his father tussling with the covers, which his father comes to believe that Zac is nude under the sheets, telling him it's "nothing he's seen before." He gains control over Zac, and yanks the covers off, only to reveal Zac with his human legs again. His dad walks off, confused by his son, and tells him to hurry up and get ready. Zac, on the other hand, is discombobulated by the sudden change.
In Meeting Rita: is show how Zac goes to school. But before he is at the Ocean cafe with Cam, eating lobster. When he goes to school the girls follow him. And at school, the cause a big water splash, that goes on Zac, which forces him to run away, and hide in one of the school, suplise closet.
In Lyla Alone: is only shown how is Lyla trying to turn Zac into a mermen form, but she can't and can't turn him, because he is very careful and he is not showing off his powers and abilities.
In Blizzard: there's a storm which forces Zac to stay indoors. But that wasn't so easy, because his father tried to force him to go with him to his anual camping trip. Zac tries to find any reason to stay indoors and not go to the campring trip. He says that he's to old, but it doesn't work, so he calls Cam and they try to find a reason to keep Zac in the house and from going out and turn into a mermen infront of his father. So after long time of searching the reasons Zac fakes that he's sick and that he can fo to the camping trip. When he fakes that he's father believes him so he tries to cure him, but he got saved by a phone call from someone that Lyla and Sirena are sick and then he needs to go cure them.
In Dolphin Tale: Zac and Cam are at the Ocean Cafe hanging out and Zac is eating seas food like crazy. Then Nixie approches them and tries to become their friend, but
In The Siren: Lyla convinces Sirena to use her beautiful singing voice to enchant Zac. But when Zac moves to fast Sirena enchants David. Later when Zac hears that Evie is worried about the exam he goes to Rita's office and tkaes pictures of the exam, but than Rita arrives and Zac gets invisible, but he doesn't kow that Rita saw him.
In Zac Returns to Mako: Zac decides to return to Mako. So he asks Lyla to come with him. Lyla tries to convince him from going to the Mako, but he is hundred procente that he needs to go to the Mako. So than Lyla anyway come with him and they go to Mako
In Close Call: Zac's determination and curiosity about the trident grows and Lyla worries about the potential danger if he retrieves the artifact. While Lyla is focused on preventing Zac from getting it, Nixie and Sirena start to sell Sirena's self-made jewellery using shells and pearls she finds in the ocean in order to earn money rather than take from Rita. However, when Sirena goes out to find jewel pieces, Zac sees a glimpse of her tail, making him believe he may not be the only merman around despite the difference in tail color. After hearing from Evie and Cam that Mako has underwater caves, Zac goes out to find if there are more mermen, worrying the girls that he may find the underwater entrance to the Moon Pool.
In Battlelines: Now that he knows Sirena, Lyla, and Nixie are mermaids, Zac starts to wonder why his school principal, Rita is helping them. This brings him to suspect that she may also be a mermaid.
In Sirena's Secret: Zac witnesses the whole scene and becomes angry that the girls have wrecked the audition and, in the process, destroyed a figurine he gave Evie as an anniversary gift. To get back at the girls, Zac uses the same ability to help find David a new replacement singer. But when Evie tells him that David actually wanted to sing with Sirena all along, Zac changes his mind.
In Truce: The episode starts with Zac swimming in his pool and then Cam comes and
In The Trident Job: there was a Halloween party at the Ocean Cafe. This party was a chance for Cam and Zac get the trident back. So they made a plan how they are gonna go from the party and take the trident. So they go to the party. Zac is dressed as a devil. At the party he had fun by tourturing the girls and scamming them so they will think that they will go look for the trident. Later than when Cam went away Zac went to the bathroom and than he disappeared. The girls went after him. At the wood they went after him, but when they punch him that he feel down they saw that it was Cam and not Zac. While Zac was at the trident pool searching for the Trident. When he saw it he took it and than hide it. Than he went back to the party where he acted like nothing happened and that he never left. On the end it was shown ow was he looking at the camera and smiling with an evil smile.
In Where's The On Button: Zac has the Trident and tries to find how does it work in one way or another. So Zac and Cam try to find out how the Trident works by spilling the water on it, and the Trident doesn't start to work. While Zac is at school the girls try to find where the Trident is by going to his house, but Zac hide it very good in his pool. Later on when Zac hears that Evie and David are gonna do the interview at Rita's house he wants to go with them.So he convinces Evie and he goes with them. Later when the girls come to Rita's house they see there Zac, Evie and David. They all talk. Later Zac says that he needs to go to the bathroom, but the girls knew what is he planing to do. So he goes in her library and searches all over it. So then he finds the mermaids book and he pulls it and it opens the doors to grotto.He enters and cant believe what he sees.On the end are Zac and Cam in Zac's room and they look at the trident and they find out how does it work.
In Nowhere To Hide: Zac is still trying to find out more about the trident, but the girls still try to find a way to get it away from him. But Zac is taking a good care of the trident, he's also getting it whit him everywhere he goes. That's why he puts it in his locker room in school. So the girls come to school to find the trident.Meanwhile Rita talks to Zac about the trident. They stop infront of Zac's locker and at the time Rita starts to feel weak.Later Zac takes the trident and goes with Cam and it to Joe David's older brother to his sea patrol garage. There he practice how to control the Trident. Then when the girls came he pushes them with the trident.The episode ends with Zac telling Cam that he's gonna find out more about the trident in one way or another.
In Aquata Returns: The episode starts where is Zac swimming at the sea with the trident. He watches all kinds of sea creatures and then he sees Aquata infront of him. She gets scared and she swims away to the moon pool.She talks to the girls about Zac. Meanwhile Zac is worried that she is going to help them destroyed him, so he tries to find out what the trident does.When is Aquata at the Moon Pool Zac swims at the sea with the trident. When he gets close to the moon pool the trident starts to shine and work. When Aquata goes out of the moon pool Zac sees her and he goes into the place Aquata came out. He goes in and he finds the Moon Pool. When Lyla and Nixie come to the moon pool Zac stands infront of them with the trident. He threats Lyla and Nixie that he's going to take the moon pool for himself.When the girls try to get the trident from the Zac Sirena comes and takes The trident behind Zac using magic. The episode ends with Zac wanting to get the Trident back.
In Evie Times Two: In this episode Zac is possibly consider as the minor character, becuse he doesn't appear much. He appears only for 8 minutes. When Cam calls him that his girlfriend Evie is acing weir he comes to her to the beach and sees that she is acting weir. Later Lyla tells him that Poseidon has become a cat. So when Zac hears that he helps Lyla from Evie and Poseidon meeting and seeing each other.
In Zac's Choice: The episode starts with Zac swimming in the sea, searching for the Trident and Lyla watching him. Than later is shown how is Zac with Cam in Zac's garage talking about how can they get the Trident. So than Zac shown an app to Cam where he can find where the trident is. So they decide that they are gonna go look for it Zac as a merman and Cam dressed in the swimming clothes. So later they search all over the sea for the Trident, and than Lyla watches them behind a rock. And than Cam sees the trident hidden in a rock and he calls Zac and he picks it up. And right after that Lyla comes at grabs the trident and starts to fight with Zac for it. While puling the trident to their sides it hits Lyla with it power and she passes away. Zac gives the trident to Cam and he takes it and hides it. While Zac stays next to Lyla and tries to wake her up, but it doesn't work so he takes her to Rita's grotto. There he leaves her and Rita tells him that he needs to get the Trident and bring it to them. And than Zac goes to Cam and takes it, but Cam is really upset because he doesn't trust the girls. Later on at Grotto Zac bring the trident and they connect it with their moon ring and put it on Lyla and right after that she wakes up. When she wakes up she tells Zac what really the trident is capable of. When Zac hears it he decides to take it back to the Trident Pool. On the end Zac comes out of the trident pool and he says that he's not going to take it anymore. But Lyla and Sirena believe him except Nixie.
In Trust: at the start of the episode there are Cam and Zac in the school talking. But Cam is still angry at Zac and he doesn't want to talk to him. But than they start to talk and they go into a fight about the trident. But than Rita stops them. And she gives them detention. At the Grotto Zac comes and joins Rita's magic lessons. Nixie is the only one who is very unsure and doesn't trust Zac. That's why Lyla and Nixie got into a fight. Lyla defends Zac and Nixie is saying that he should stop being a mermen. Than Lyla and Zac go together into the water and they swim. Lyla shows him how does it feel in water.Than they go to the moon pool. And there they talk about sea and mermaid stuff. And then Nixie comes to the moon pool and she sees Zac and Lyla together and she swims away. Than Nixie and Cam walk to the beach. They make a deal that they will try to change Zac back to a human form.At the Grotto Lyla tells that Zac is trust worthy and that he want to know about the water and stuff. Lyla tells the girls and Rita that she wants him to join their pod.
In Betrayed: is first shown how is Zac swimming with the trident and than he goes to the moon pool on the full moon with the Trident. But than he wakes up so he was actually dreaming. And than he is with Cam at the Ocean Cafe talking about the trident and Zac tells him that he had a dream where he was at the moon pool with the trident on the full moon. Cam tells him that that is a sign that he should get the trident back from the trident pool. And than he goes in the cafe to get some drinks, there he sees Evie and she says that he needs to tell her everything, and than Zac almost tells her the truth that he is a mermen. But than Carly interrupts them by calling Evie that she's got a phone call that she needs to take. And than Zac doesn't tell her. Later he goes to Rita's grotto and tells the girls that he almost told Evie about him being a merman. At the grotto the girls and Rita comfort him that back when he will become a normal boy again he won't need to lie anymore. Later Nixie does a stupid mistake where she opens the trident cave for Cam and Evie was next to him. When Zac, Lyla and Sirena find out that they run to Nixie and try to stop her. When they come it is to late and they Cam is already gone with the trident. But Evie is still in the water in the trident pool where she is running out of the oxygen. So Zac goes in and grabs Evie and saves her, but she sees him in a mermen form. Later outside the trident cave she can't believe that Zac is a mermen.

Bethany anne barron
Zac is very fond of bethany and cares very much for her and wants to be a good boyfriend. Their relationship becomes very strained because of Zac hiding his secret from her, and even more when bethany and Zac become close friends. bethany is the one person he does not want to discover his mermaid side for fear of losing her. She later finds out about him when he is forced to save her from drowning in "Betrayed" .
Cam[]
Zac and Cam have been best mates from the time they were young children. At first, Cam is very supportive of his friend and helps him keep his secret hidden from Evie. Until "Zac's Pool Party" when Cam get tired of covering for him and shoves him into his pool, Zac's secret exposed to the three undercover greek gods. Later, they make up and Cam starts helping Zac to get the trident. Later, Cam grows even more jealous of his friends powers and is outraged when Zac puts the trident back into its chamber.
bethany[]
bethany and Zac become really close after she and the other two mermaids "accidentally" discover he is a merman. They form a very close bond. Zac may yet discover he has feelings for her later on.
Powers[]
He possesses the ability to transform into a merman 10 seconds after touching water. As a ice cream cone, he has the ability to swim at super speed of 600km/h, hold his breath for at least 20 minutes, and dive at a depth lower than the deepest divers in the world.

As a merman, he has the ability to swim at super speed of 600km/h, hold his breath for at least 20 minutes, and dive at a depth lower than the deepest divers in the world. After drying, his body reverts back to human form.
Telekinesis[]
In "Dolphin Tale", he starts the ignition on Joe's boat and starts moving it. In "Zac's Return to Mako", when he was under the influence of the Full Sun, Lyla tried to stop him from reaching the land entrance and he pushed her using his telenkinsis.
Hydrokinesis[]
When he is showing Carlos that he turned into a ice cream cone, he creates a ball made out of water and throws it at him.
Hydro-Thermokinesis[]
In "Zac's Pool Party", Zac is shown using this power to heat up the pool and it evaporates so he can try and cancel his pool party.
Invisibility[]
After his first Full Moon in "Zac's Return to Mako", In "The Siren In "Truce" and "Nowhere To Hide" he uses this power so he doesn't caught in the cafe and the warehouse.
Volume Reduction[]
Zac used this power to improve Cam's singing in "Sirena's Secret".
